Finding comfort in establishment begins with Paul’s gospel. Knowing your eternal destiny and understanding that you have peace with God gives comfort.
Next is the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery. This teaches us that we are in Christ and he in us. We learn to live our lives on that principle instead of the law or a man-made set of rules. This is also comforting.
Finally, knowing that the scriptures of the prophets are not written to us today and the promises that are given there are not our promises brings comfort. When folk go to the Old Testament scriptures, they only find defeat in their lives because those prayer promises and healing promises are for Israel. Applying those promises to individuals or nations doesn’t work because God is functioning in a different manner today, to a different people.
Also understanding that God is not physically chastening us today brings comfort: We have peace with God.
Even going to the gospels such as the sermon on the mount can only bring defeat and confusion. Being established in Christ gives one joy and peace, not guilt and fear.
