To live a fruitful life, one needs to have an ultimate authority. This usually involves a written authority, such as the Constitution of the United States for the USA.
Individually, we need to have a book that we can trust. One that is the authority for our lives. Every word of it must be true, and when we disagree with it, we must admit we are in error.
