Paul tells us that we are crucified with Christ, nevertheless we live. How is it that we can live in death.
Fortunately, he equips us with the tools to do this outside of the law.
In 2 Corinthians 4:18 we are told to look at things which are not seen. This is how we defeat the lust of the eyes. So being dead to sin, we live by looking at things not seen.
In Philippians 3:20-21 we are told that our conversation is in heaven, and that our vile bodies will be changed. This is how we defeat the pride of life. So being dead to the law, we live by having our conversation in heaven.
In Colossians 3:13 we are told to set our affections on things above. This is how we we overcome the lust of the flesh. So being dead to the flesh, we live by setting our affections on things above.
